Goals: As a professional, you will need to
communicate with different audiences for a variety of purposes. Your ability to
communicate your message can play a considerable role in your professional
success. In this course you can develop your abilities to communicate
effectively and with sensitivity to the various components of the oral
communication process. By the end of the term, you can become a more proficient
speaker, with greater awareness and knowledge of rhetorical and organizational
techniques for effective communication. You can also work on the technical
aspects of speaking such as gesture, eye contact, and voice. Finally, you can
examine the effective use of visual aids in spoken communication.
